Is it safe for someone whom does not have Diabetes to eat a Diabetic Diet?

Also, my daughter is 10, and she is very thin, I was having her do this diet as well, but allow her to eat “junk” food on occasion. The hole leaks fluids daily. She can not walk without her specially made cast (because the bone in her foot is deformed). She is always experiencing leg pains.
Doctors have tried various things for years…
Do you think there is hope that the wound will heal? Is there a chance that her foot will recover?
